Proposed amendments to ACP Bylaws
Consultation No. 2022-03A Open
Submission deadline: Tuesday May 24, 2022, at noon MT
Council has approved amendments to the ACP Bylaws for the purpose of consultation. Following is a brief introduction to the proposed amendments.
- Amendments to the Pharmacy and Drug Act (Bill 65-06/2021) and the Pharmacy and Drug Regulation (pending)
- These amendments move authority for “identifying field officers” from the regulations to the bylaws. Subject to approval, the amended bylaw will replace the current regulation, and will come into effect upon proclamation of the amendments to the Act. The amendment does not change current requirements.
- Amendment to the Health Professions Act (Bill 30/2020)
- This amendment required changes to the structure of the councils of colleges that regulate health professions. ACP amended our bylaws in early 2021 to accommodate the new requirements, coming into effect April 1, 2021. With the new Council in place, the transitional clauses can now be repealed. These amendments will result in no changes to the policies of the existing bylaws, and the proposed changes will come into effect upon approval of Council.
