The Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) will hold Council elections for a pharmacist in District 1 (northern Alberta) and for a pharmacist in District 4 (central Alberta). Voting for this year’s Council election opens at noon MT on Friday May 20, 2022, and closes at 4:30 p.m. MT on Thursday June 16, 2022.
All voting will take place online and can be accessed at abpharmacy.ca/vote2022. The voting site will not open until the election begins. To login to the voting site, eligible voters will use their ACP registration number and ACP password. Section 21 of ACP’s bylaws defines eligible voters. As election in these two districts is limited to pharmacists, eligible voters in this year’s elections include
- individuals registered on the clinical pharmacist register who reside in the district for which an election is being held;
- individuals registered on the Honorary Life pharmacy register who reside in the district for which an election is being held; and
- individuals registered on the clinical pharmacist register or Honorary Life pharmacy register who do not reside in Alberta, but have declared their choice of voting district for the purposes of voting for a clinical pharmacist member of Council.
Voters in District 1 and District 4 watch your inbox for the following:
- A message from ACP. Voters in District 1 and District 4 will receive an email from ACP with a list of the candidates seeking election to Council in your district. The message will restate the election timeframes and provide voters with a link to the online voting site.
- Messages from the candidates. To support the election process, ACP will send two emails on the candidates’ behalf to voters in each district. Watch your inbox for these messages during the election. A biographical sketch and photo of each candidate will also be posted on the election site, so voters can learn about each candidate to make a more informed decision when casting their ballot.
