ACP’s opioid assessment brochures, Understanding your pharmacist’s role in assessing medication risk, will soon be delivered to licensed community pharmacies across Alberta. To help spread the word to the public about the importance of pharmacist assessments, especially for opioid prescriptions, ACP Registrar Greg Eberhart appeared on both 630 CHED’s Ryan Jespersen Show and Global News Morning in Edmonton this week.
Greg talked about why pharmacists are conducting thorough assessments each time an individual brings an opioid prescription, what the process looks like for patients, and the difference pharmacy professionals can make in the opioid crisis.
