Following the opioid presentation this spring, ACP and RxA will be offering a panel presentation exploring issues related to substance use and harm reduction on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at the Sheraton Cavalier in Calgary. The harm reduction focused program will help pharmacists to develop communication strategies that can assist in the building and maintenance of professional relationships with patients requiring harm reduction measures. Pharmacists will learn about
- interdisciplinary collaboration,
- avoiding and reducing stigma,
- the ethical aspects of care in harm reduction, and
- how to apply harm reduction principles in their practice.
Finally, the interactive and patient-centred session will review the various harm reduction medications and treatment options used in opioid dependence.
Registration for this presentation is open to all ACP pharmacist registrants.
