ACP Council will welcome two new members to the table this summer, while a familiar face will return for a second term.
Fayaz Rajabali, who is the current Council president, was re-elected in District 3 (Edmonton), while Patrick Zachar was elected in District 2 (Southern Alberta) and Shereen Elsayad was elected in District 5 (Calgary). All three successful candidates are community pharmacists. Their terms on Council will begin on July 1, 2020 and will extend to June 30, 2023.
It should be noted that voter turn-out was generally lower than in the last election in these districts. Registrants had an opportunity to vote online from March 13, 2020, to April 9, 2020.
ACP would like to congratulate Fayaz, Patrick, and Shereen, and express our appreciation to all candidates who put their names forward for election.
