A Calgary pharmacist has a cautionary tale for all Alberta practitioners: “We are getting more and more people coming in and saying that they are from out of province and show us an out-of-province health care card or ID, and ask for Schedule 2 T#1s. But when they are searched on Netcare, they do have an AHC# and it shows many, many previous fills of the same med.”
It may take a minute of your time, but checking Netcare is time well spent given the potential for abuse and patient harm.
