Standard 14 outlines the requirements when prescribing at initial access or to manage ongoing therapy.
- Standard 14(a) requires a pharmacist who prescribes at initial access or to manage ongoing therapy to take reasonable steps to determine which other regulated health professionals the patient is consulting.
- Standard 14(b) then requires that pharmacist to communicate as soon as reasonably possible to any regulated health professionals whose care of the patient may be affected by their prescribing decision the information required in Standard 11.
- Standards 14.8-14.10 outline the documentation and monitoring requirements you must meet when prescribing.
