Important information will be available in Netcare as of March 20, 2025.
Information about medications ordered for administration in Alberta Health Services (AHS) and affiliated outpatient clinics has been a historical gap to community providers as it is not accessible via Netcare.
As of March 20, 2025, a new display for Connect Care Outpatient Med (medication) Orders will be available in Netcare.
Key points about the medication information available in Netcare include
- Data is updated in real time.
- Data is not available via the Pharmaceutical Information Network (PIN) but as a separate tab identified as “Connect Care Outpatient Med Orders” in the medication section of Netcare.
- The medications listed are those that have been ordered, but not necessarily dispensed or administered. This is different than medications included in PIN which is based on dispensed medications.
- Data is available back to the date of Connect Care implementation at each facility.
