For pharmacy professionals, the world in which we practise has fundamentally shifted. ACP recognizes that our approach to regulating pharmacy practice and operations must be deeply informed by the reality of health care in Alberta today.
Over the past year, we have undertaken an extensive journey of listening. We wanted to understand the experiences of both those who provide care and those who receive it. We heard from 1,000 Albertans and 900 regulated members. We learned about the trust Albertans have in their pharmacy teams, and about the challenges pharmacy professionals experience while delivering quality care every day. We also learned about the opportunities that exist for pharmacy today and tomorrow.
With what we have learned, ACP has developed a plan for the next three years and beyond to elevate pharmacy’s role within Alberta’s healthcare system, enable quality care in pharmacy practice, and anticipate and support the future of pharmacy practice.
You’re invited to our next series of ACP Connect events, where we will cover
- where we are with pharmacy practice today, featuring survey feedback from regulated members and the public;
- ACP’s plan: where we are going with pharmacy practice in the next three years and beyond;
- how we will get there, including an overview of our three-year objectives and our priorities for 2026; and
- a panel discussion that will open the floor to all attendees to ask questions of Council members and registrar Brad Willsey.
We encourage you to attend to join the conversation about how ACP plans to support you to be able to meet the demands of an ever-evolving health system and to consider how you see yourself in these plans.
The sessions are scheduled as follows:
- April 7 – Edmonton (with option to attend virtually), and
- April 8 – Calgary.
Our Calgary in-person event is already at capacity and there are only a few tickets left for the in-person Edmonton event—we encourage you to register for the virtual event if both in-person events reach capacity.
The invitation email (sent on February 18) should be in your inbox.
