Pharmacists must renew and possess current personal professional liability insurance.
This is a reminder that as per the declaration that all pharmacists make as part of their annual practice permit renewal, pharmacists must also renew and maintain their professional liability insurance (PLI). Pharmacists must carry no less than $2 million worth of personal PLI that is either claims-made or occurrence-based in nature. Even if not practising, pharmacists must have valid and current PLI while on the clinical pharmacist register. Most pharmacist PLI policies need to be renewed for July 1. Please ensure that you renew your PLI before it expires!
Remember, the deadline for pharmacists to renew their annual practice permit is 11:59 p.m. on May 31, 2021.
