DHR Global has commenced a national search, on behalf of ACP’s succession planning committee, to identify candidates who may best fulfill the registrar’s roles and responsibilities. Council approved a position specification for the position, having received recommendations from DHR Global and having considered feedback received from regulated members about the proposed bylaw amendment. ACP’s bylaw remains unchanged.
Reporting to Council, the registrar is also the chief executive officer of ACP. The registrar is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Health Professions Act and, by extension, the Pharmacy and Drug Act. The registrar is also responsible for overseeing all administrative functions of ACP.
Major accountabilities for which the registrar will be responsible include relationships and partnerships, strategy, leadership, and the overall administration of ACP. Success requires that the preferred candidate demonstrate competence in the following core areas: ambassadorship, leadership, strategic planning and execution, risk, and governance.
Upon reviewing the position specifications, you are encouraged to identify regulated members, or individuals eligible to become a regulated member, who demonstrate these qualities and who may be interested in pursuing the position.
