Virtual town hall with Dr. Deena Hinshaw

June 23, 2021
Join Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health to discuss COVID-19 immunization and the impact of vaccines.

Pharmacists are invited to join Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, in a virtual town hall for physicians and pharmacists to discuss the importance of immunization in COVID-19 control, and the anticipated impact of vaccines on how we shift from a pandemic COVID-19 response to an endemic “living with COVID” approach.

Dr. Hinshaw will be joined by Trish Merrithew- Mercredi, Assistant Deputy Minister, Public Health and Compliance, Alberta Health; Dr. Debrah Wirtzfeld, Associate Chief Medical Officer, Physician Health, Diversity & Wellness for Alberta Health Services (AHS); and Dr. Nicholas Mitchell, Provincial Medical Director, Addictions and Mental Health, AHS in this panel discussion with physicians and pharmacists across the province.

This panel will be an opportunity to hear questions and ideas as we work to maximize COVID-19 protection from immunization and plan for post-pandemic health needs. Specific areas of discussion include a request for input on ways to increase vaccine uptake, an update on vaccine effectiveness and the impact of variants, and planning for post-pandemic health needs, particularly in the area of mental health including that of health care providers.

To attend, please register for the Zoom meeting in advance.
