Starting October 16, 2023, pharmacy technicians will be able to renew their annual practice permit with ACP. Before you begin the process to renew, you’ll need to establish your password with myACP and gain access to ACP’s new information management system.
You should have received an email from the college on September 11, 2023, with instructions on how to set your password and gain access to myACP. If you did not receive this email, you can also refer to page five of the myACP Q and A Guide, which includes instructions on how to log in to myACP for the first time as an existing regulated member.
When renewal opens, you will complete your renewal application in myACP. Setting up your password and gaining access to myACP now will make the renewal process much smoother for you.
You can also use myACP to access the Continuing Competence Program (CCP) portal to complete your CCP requirements. You must complete the following requirements before renewing your practice permit:
- complete at least 15 continuing education units (CEUs) during the Continuing Education cycle and document each learning activity on one or more learning records,
- implement at least one CEU worth of learning into their practice and document this on an implementation record, and
- complete any required learning that has been assigned by the competence committee.
This year’s required learning is the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Cultural Safety Module. Pharmacy technicians may claim up to four non-accredited CEUs for completing this module and can document what they have learned in a learning record. As this module takes four hours to complete, ensure to give yourself the necessary time to complete it.
