When ACP launched our new website on November 1, 2023, you may have noticed a new section in the “Regulated members” area: Advice to the professions.
In this section, you’ll find direction that will prove helpful in specific areas. So far, you’ll find advice about what to do when assessing a prescription or refill from a prescriber whose practice has been cancelled, suspended, or made subject to conditions; what to do with prescriptions that include an electronic signature; and maintaining professionalism and privacy when using social media.
“By creating ‘Advice to the professions,’ we are hoping to help regulated members understand how they can achieve practice expectations that are established in the legislative framework for pharmacy practice,” said Jeff Whissell, ACP’s Deputy Registrar.
ACP will continue to add more advice tin this section to provide pharmacy teams direction in specific circumstances, how certain standards may be applied in these situations, and how the Code of Ethics may influence your behaviours.
“We hope the advice documents will assist regulated members with questions they have and clarify expectations of practice,” added Jeff.
ACP encourages regulated members to check this section regularly for additional advice on a wide range of topics.
