Don’t confuse dimenhyDRINATE with diphenhyDRAMINE

The college continues to receive calls about pharmacists confusing injectable dimenhydrinate and diphenhydramine (i.e., Gravol and Benadryl) and dispensing the incorrect medication to cancer patients in the community pharmacy setting. The drugs are not interchangeable.

Review ISMP’s List of Confused Drug Names to avoid other such mix ups.
