ACP employment opportunities – Pharmacy Practice Consultants (Northern and Southern Alberta)

If so, being an ACP Pharmacy Practice Consultant could be the job for you. This is an excellent opportunity to innovate and influence change in your profession.

The college currently has two Pharmacy Practice Consultant positions open, one covering Northern Alberta and one covering Southern Alberta (south of Red Deer). Both require travel, including overnight stays, and flexibility to cover other areas of Alberta as determined by business needs. This position also requires the ability to work extended hours when needed to meet assessment travel requirements.

Reporting to the Professional Practice Director, a Pharmacy Practice Consultant, a full-time permanent employee, is responsible for:

  • conducting inspections according to the Health Professions Act (HPA) and the Pharmacy and Drug Act (PDA);
  • assessing pharmacy operations and systems;
  • educating licensees, pharmacy directors, pharmacy staff and proprietors through consultations to ensure safe, effective and responsible pharmacy practice; and
  • developing and implementing educational programs and tools to promote quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.
