ACP’s routine assessments of pharmacies resuming

June 24, 2020
Licensees who are due for an assessment will hear directly from their pharmacy practice consultant to discuss process.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and resulting physical distancing directives, ACP temporarily ceased conducting inspections of pharmacies, including routine assessments, consultations, and follow-up visits by our team of pharmacy practice consultants (PPCs). All inspections were deferred to optimize safety during the initial period of the pandemic.

Now that Alberta’s state of emergency has been lifted, ACP is resuming pharmacy inspections. To successfully and safely conduct these inspections, ACP is implementing safety measures that comply with direction from the Chief Medical Officer of Health. ACP continues to prioritize the safety of both our registrants and employees, and we will adhere to physical distancing and other safety measures as we reintroduce this core program.

For everyone’s safety, there may be some adjustment to inspection processes to support the safety of all individuals.

If your pharmacy is due for an inspection, your PPC will be in touch to discuss what to expect.
