Red Deer College seeks advisors for pharmacy technician program

August 22, 2018
A pharmacist and a pharmacy technician are needed for the advisory committee.

Red Deer College (RDC) is looking for a pharmacist, and a pharmacy technician to help advise and shape their Pharmacy Technician Program.

RDC is appealing to those who work in community pharmacy to consider serving as members of the advisory committee.

“Their valuable input helps us to maintain a program that is respected, current, and produces graduates who are well received in the field,” says Ava Feenstra, Chairwoman, RDC Pharmacy Technician Program.

Feenstra says the two pharmacy professionals should be enthusiastic and available to serve a three-year term. Members can stay on for two terms if they enjoy the work and the board chooses to extend the term.

“Membership provides an opportunity to contribute to the educational process, and ensure our profession moves forward in a collaborative manner,” says Feenstra.

This is a volunteer position, with the expectation to attend and participate in two to three meetings a year in Red Deer. Advisory committee members are compensated for mileage as necessary. The meetings are generally held in the evenings with the next one scheduled for October 2018.
