October 19, 2022
Join us to consider what pharmacy practice is, and what it isn’t.

One of the objectives of ACP’s five-year strategic plan is to pursue a modern and relevant framework to regulate pharmacy practice.

Contributing to this practice framework are amendments to legislation and regulation that have either already occurred or will occur before year’s end. In addition, ACP has set several strategic priorities for 2023 that will help achieve a modern and relevant practice framework, including a complete review and revision of ACP’s Standards of Practice for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.

With these key elements in mind, we need to be clear about what pharmacy practice is, and what it is not. Pharmacy practices are described by legislation and regulation, but we are often still left to wonder whether specific services fall within the limits of pharmacy practice.

We invite you to join us to consider some of these questions:

  • What considerations are needed to be clear about our collective and personal practice limitations?
  • What have you experienced as a pharmacy professional, and how have you used these experiences to make decisions about your practice?
  • What is pharmacy practice?

Join ACP Council president Irene Pfeiffer (public member), president-elect Patrick Zachar (pharmacist, District 2), registrar Greg Eberhart, and deputy registrar Jeff Whissell at ACP Connect to explore key questions and considerations that will help guide the college to regulate and govern pharmacy practice responsibly now and in the future.

Attendance and participation in ACP Connect events is worth two non-accredited continuing education units (CEUs) for your continuing competence professional portfolio.

The session will be offered in Lethbridge (Tuesday, October 25, 2022) and Edmonton (Thursday, October 27, 2022). An option to attend virtually will also be available for the Edmonton event. Light snacks and beverages will be available for in-person attendees.

An email with links to register was sent to registrants on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. If you are interested in attending the event and did not receive the email, please contact communications@abpharmacy.ca.
