Shortage of drug used to treat depression

Availability of phenelzine sulfate tablets expected to be intermittent and future supply cannot be guaranteed by Health Canada.

There is currently a shortage of phenelzine sulfate Tablets USP (NARDIL), 15 mg (DIN 00476552) in Canada due to a global shortage of an active ingredient. Phenelzine sulfate is a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) indicated for the treatment of certain types of depression. The resupply date is unknown at this point.

Phenelzine is currently listed on the Tier 3 list of shortages. Tier 3 shortages are those with the greatest impact on supply and drugs on this list are in high demand or currently in shortage.
