Council elections now open

Online voting is available for District 1 and District A.

The Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) is now holding Council elections for a pharmacist in District 1 (northern Alberta) and a pharmacy technician in District A (northern Alberta).

Voting is open until 4:30 p.m. MT on Thursday, June 27, 2024.

Voters in District 1 and District A will vote online by using their standard login information to access myACP, then clicking the link on the homepage (see screenshot below). Section 21 of ACP’s bylaws defines eligible voters.

The pharmacist candidates seeking election to Council in District 1 (northern Alberta) for a three-year term are

  • Asad Gavahi Kashani, and
  • Kory Sloan.

The pharmacy technician candidates seeking election to Council in District B (northern Alberta) for a three-year term are

  • Laura Miskimins (incumbent), and
  • Kirsten Shead.

An election was also scheduled to be held for a pharmacist in District 2, but Patrick Zachar has been re-elected by acclamation for another two-year term. He will also serve as past president during the 2024-25 Council year. Scott McLeod had been approved for nomination for election as a pharmacist in District 2, but he notified Council that he wished to rescind his nomination.

Voters in District 1 and District A: watch your inbox for messages from the candidates. To support the election process, ACP will send two emails on candidates’ behalf to voters in each district. A biographical sketch and picture of each candidate will also be posted on the election site, so voters can learn about each candidate to make a more informed decision when casting their ballot.
