The Health Quality Council of Alberta (HQCA) regularly undertakes projects related to medication system quality and safety and would like to connect with pharmacists who are interested in contract project work.
Currently, the HQCA is looking for a pharmacist to help develop a toolkit of resources that healthcare providers in a variety of care settings can use to meet best practice recommendations for the use of abbreviations in medication-related communication. The abbreviations toolkit project will build on a comprehensive literature review on this topic that was completed for the HQCA in 2010.
