As of Monday, May 10, 2021, all Albertans 12 years of age and older are eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccinations. This is a reminder that pharmacy professionals must ensure that proper spacing is required between receiving doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and any other vaccines. As stated in ACP’s guidance: Administering injections to patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is prudent to wait for a period of at least 14 days after the administration of another vaccine before administering a COVID-19 vaccine.
Students in grades six and nine receive public health vaccines and there has been a catchup campaign in grades seven and 10 this year.
