ACP’s evolved Continuing Competence Program (CCP) came into effect for pharmacists on June 1, 2025, and access opened on July 2, 2025. The evolved CCP is based upon the broad foundation of the tenets of professionalism and demonstrate a more holistic appreciation to the diverse roles and development needs of pharmacy professionals as described in the Professionalism Framework.

CCP cycle

The CCP requires the following of all pharmacists each CCP cycle (formerly known as continuing education or CE cycle) for pharmacists, the CCP cycle starts June 1 of any year and ends May 31 of the following year.

Requirements

Pharmacists can access all program materials through Academy. All CCP requirements must be submitted to ACP via Academy in order to apply to renew your practice permit.

  1. You must complete and document at least 15 continuing education units (CEUs) during each CCP cycle that relates to your professional practice.
  2. You must complete any learning assigned by the Competence Committee.
  3. You must choose a descriptor under the Active Learner tenet and answer the associated questions.
  4. You must choose a descriptor from another tenet and answer the associated questions.
