On May 2, 2024, Council named the recipients of Honorary Life Membership, Honorary Membership, and the Leadership Development Award.
Honorary Life Membership
The Honorary Life Member award is the most prestigious recognition for an individual who is or has been a regulated member. The award is presented to a current or former regulated member who has, in the opinion of Council, rendered distinguished service to the practice of pharmacists or pharmacy technicians.
This year, pharmacist and former Alberta Pharmaceutical Association and ACP Council member and president Rick Hackman is being presented the Honorary Life Membership.
Honorary Membership
The Honorary Member award is the college’s most prestigious recognition of an individual who has never been a regulated member. This award is presented to an individual who has never been a regulated member and has, in the opinion of Council, rendered distinguished service to the practice of pharmacists or pharmacy technicians.
This year, Council selected two recipients: Pat Matusko, former public member of ACP Council and government appointee to the province’s pool of Hearing Tribunal members, and William Shores, a lawyer at Shores Jardine LLP who has served as ACP’s legal counsel for nearly 30 years.
Leadership Development Award
ACP’s Leadership Development Award is presented annually to a pharmacy technician or pharmacist who has been practising in Alberta for up to five years and demonstrates exemplary professionalism, leadership, and citizenship. This year, pharmacist Sofiya Terekhovska was selected as the award recipient.
Recipients will be recognized at ACP’s Celebration of Leadership reception on June 12, 2024. ACP extends a heartfelt congratulations to each recipient. Watch The Link in the coming months for feature articles on each of these leaders!
