The strategic planning process began with a review of the current pharmacy landscape in Alberta and future opportunities. The plan is based on many sources of feedback, including interviews with interested parties, a public survey across Alberta, a public focus group, a survey of regulated members, staff workshops, Council workshops, and a review of internal documents. Together, this feedback supports ACP’s role to protect and serve the public interest.
ACP’s vision—healthy Albertans through excellence in pharmacy practice—continues to guide the college and encourage ongoing improvement. Quality and safety remain at the centre of this vision. The strategic plan highlights the importance of safe, ethical, and competent pharmacy practice, supported by continuous quality improvement. It also recognizes that pharmacy professionals are highly skilled but often under pressure, working in a healthcare system that is changing quickly.
