Council elections

Elections are being held for three positions on ACP Council: a pharmacist in District 1 (northern Alberta), a pharmacist in District 2 (southern Alberta), and a pharmacy technician in District A (northern Alberta). Voting opens at 8:00 a.m. MT on Monday, May 27, 2024, and closes at 4:30 p.m. MT on Thursday, June 27, 2024.

The pharmacist candidates seeking election to Council in District 1 (northern Alberta) for a three-year term are

  • Asad Gavahi Kashani, and
  • Kory Sloan.

Patrick Zachar has been re-elected by acclamation for another two-year term in District 2, and he will also serve as past president during the 2024-25 Council year. Scott McLeod, who had been approved for nomination for election as a pharmacist in District 2, notified Council that he wished to rescind his nomination. Scott was looking forward to the opportunity, but he ultimately decided that personal time commitments would not allow him to properly dedicate his attention to Council at this time.

The pharmacy technician candidates seeking election to Council in District B (northern Alberta) for a three-year term are

  • Laura Miskimins (incumbent), and
  • Kirsten Shead.

To support the election process, ACP will send two emails on candidates’ behalf to voters in each district. Watch your inbox for these messages. A biographical sketch and photo of each candidate will also be posted on the election site, so voters can learn about each candidate to make an informed decision when casting their ballot.
