If you are a student enrolled in a pharmacy program at a Canadian university, outside of Alberta, that is accredited by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP), you are eligible to apply to the pharmacy student register. Registration with ACP is required to practise as a pharmacy student under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
If you are an out of province CCAPP student who is completing an educational rotation in Alberta, you may apply for a temporary six-month permit at a reduced fee using the process below. However, if you intend to practise as a pharmacist in Alberta at the conclusion of your studies, we recommend applying for the full four-year term.
If you are applying for a temporary six-month permit, in addition to the requirements below you will be required to provide evidence from your university confirming the educational rotation in Alberta. Note that your temporary six-month permit takes effect immediately once your application and payment are approved, so please time your application accordingly. We recommend that you prepare your supporting documentation in advance, allowing 15 business days for application processing.
