The College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) has recently updated the find a nurse tool on their website to incorporate searching by registration number (or registrant ID in CRNA terms) in addition to first and last name. Pharmacy professionals needing to confirm the information of any nurse practitioner or registered nurse who has authorization to prescribe can now simply search for that individual on the CRNA website.
The tool provides
- current registration status,
- licence type,
- any conditions or restrictions on a permit, and
- any complaint decisions or disciplinary actions.
The nurse practitioners search page previously located in the prescriber lists section of the ACP website has been retired and replaced with a link to the CRNA tool, similar to those already in place for dentists, optometrists, and dietitians.
