Pharmacy professionals are encouraged to apply for positions on one of the 14 regional advisory councils that report to Adriana LaGrange, Minister of Hospital and Surgical Health Service and oversight Minister for health in Alberta.

The health councils launched in July 2025 with the goal of providing advice to government and bringing forward local healthcare priorities. Councils meet regularly and continue to engage with communities and health partners to amplify local perspectives and explore ways to improve health care in their region.

Albertans can apply to join a regional advisory council by November 23.

Council membership includes community leaders, Albertans receiving health services, healthcare professionals, health foundations, and elected municipal representatives. The goal of the councils is to represent as many communities as possible and to reflect a wide range of lived and professional experiences in all councils.
