Primary Care Alberta is encouraging primary care teams to read and share a new document from Canada’s Health Standards Organization (HSO) on culturally safe health design.
This new standard, Cultural Safety and Humility, provides evidence-informed guidance on the collaborative design, delivery, and evaluation of culturally safe health and social services with and for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples and communities.
HSO is also hosting a webinar on Monday, November 9, 2026, from 7:00-8:00 a.m. Alberta time. Attendees will hear from subject matter experts and learn more about the standard, its intended use, and its application across health and social service organizations.
