The Alberta College of Family Physicians is looking for pharmacists with a desire to contribute to the improvement of care for patients suffering from chronic pain and/or substance use disorders to join the Collaborative Mentorship Network for Chronic Pain and Addiction (CMN).
To learn more about the CMN and what helpful free resources and opportunities members have access to, watch this short video featuring CMN medical director and advocate, Dr. Cathy Scrimshaw.
Upcoming free CMN events to attend:
- February 18, 2021 – Buprenorphine Naloxone Recap: What, Why & How with Dr. Rob Tanguay;
- March 18, 2021 – AUD in Community: Evidence & Actions with Drs. Jessica Kirkwood, Lana Fehr, and Tally Mogus;
- April 20 & 27, 2021 – PEER Presentations on Back Pain & Neuropathic Pain with Drs. Jessica Kirkwood and Tina Korownyk; and
- May 13 & 19, 2021 – Presentations on Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) with Drs. Vincent Lam and Marie Claire Bourque.
There are many ways to become engaged in the CMN as a general member, mentor, and/or mentee. The addition of more pharmacists to the network would greatly strengthen the initiative. For additional information, please visit the CMN Alberta website or contact them via email at mentorship@acfp.ca.
