In spring and fall, ACP’s leadership team and members of Council travel across the province to host ACP Connect events. These events give registrants an opportunity to join ACP in person or virtually to reflect on issues impacting pharmacy practice.
This spring, we are honoured to be joined by a special guest: patient safety advocate, Melissa Sheldrick. Melissa is a patient and family advisor at ISMP Canada, a member of Patients for Patient Safety Canada, and a patient safety expert.
Her dedication to patient safety is inspired by her personal experience as a mother who tragically lost her eight-year-old son, Andrew, to a medication error in 2016. Melissa uses her unique perspective as a caregiver with lived experience to drive change and promote a culture of safety within the healthcare system.
Melissa will be joining us in person at two ACP Connect events as follows:
- Edmonton (with virtual option) – Monday, April 15, 2024, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. MT; and
- Calgary – Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. MT
Melissa will share her story and we will discuss how we can support the safety culture of pharmacy in Alberta. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions in an engaging panel discussion. Don’t forget—participating in ACP Connect is worth non-accredited continuing education units (CEUs) for your continuing competence portfolio.
An email with links to register to attend in Edmonton, in Calgary, or virtually was sent to registrants on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. If you have questions or did not receive the email, please contact communications@abpharmacy.ca.
We hope to see you there!
