Council elections

ACP Council has approved changes to the college bylaws that end the use of districts for Council elections. Instead, all members of Council will represent all Albertans and all pharmacy professionals in the province. Council will still consist of five elected pharmacists, two elected pharmacy technicians, and seven public members appointed by the Minister of Primary and Preventative Health Services.

In the spring of 2026, Council elections will be held for one pharmacist and one pharmacy technician position, both for a three-year term commencing July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2029. Incumbent Patrick Zachar has served two three-year terms in a pharmacist position and is not eligible for re-election. Incumbent Nina Dueck has served one three-year term in a pharmacy technician position and is eligible for re-election for a second three-year term.

The Nominating Committee is now inviting applications from regulated members who are eligible for nomination for the available positions and interested in being recommended to Council for nomination. If you are interested, please review the supporting documents and use the link below to complete the application for nomination. If you have any questions, please email executiveassistant@abpharmacy.ca.

Applications must be received via the web form submission prior to 4:30 p.m. MT on December 1, 2025.
